The Bureau of Land Management New Mexico (BLM NM) Albuquerque District Office is hiring highly qualified and motivated individuals for a new Wildland Fire Module located in Albuquerque, NM. NM BLM and Albuquerque District Overview
The mission of the BLM NM Fire, Fuels, and Aviation Program is to provide professional, effective, and safe fire suppression and fuels management services to help the BLM and its interagency partners meet their objectives.

The BLM NM has fire management responsibility on 13.5 million acres of public land on four districts. The module will join the fleet of 14 engines that currently responds to an average of 300 wildfires per year that occur on both public, state, and private lands as a result of our mutual aid agreements with other agencies. The district’s zone, with a hub in Albuquerque, encompasses the most densely populated area in the state. The immediate jurisdictions of suppression include the US Department of Agriculture – Forest Service, New Mexico Forestry, US Department of Interior agencies – Bureau of Indian Affairs, Bureau of Land Management, Fish & Wildlife, National Park Service, and the Kirtland Air Force Base and incorporated municipalities, towns and villages.
